Rincon Partners, LLC ("Rincon") was formed in 2015 by four partners (John Pons, Chris Cameron, Jason Ottman and Kirk McAllaster), with experience working together building exceptional real estate companies. Collectively, they have over 60 years of experience in acquiring, developing, financing, managing and selling commercial real estate across multiple asset classes, with over $18 billion of real estate acquired and managed over their careers.
Since its inception, Rincon has acquired eight multifamily properties and two self-storage developments with project values totaling over $165 million.
Prior to forming Rincon, three of the partners worked together in executive and leadership roles at Cole Real Estate Investments, Inc. ("Cole"), a public REIT and leading sponsor of SEC registered non-traded REITs. During their 11 year tenure at Cole, Mr. McAllaster and Mr. Pons, as Executive Vice Presidents, were each instrumental in growing Cole from a firm with 20 people and $20 million in assets under management to a national organization with over 375 people and over $17 billion of real estate owned and managed, eventually listing on the NYSE in 2013 and merging with VEREIT, Inc. (a public REIT formerly known as American Realty Capital Properties, Inc.) in 2014. Mr. Cameron was also a key player at Cole leading the SEC registration process for its first three SEC registered REITs and developing accounting policies and procedures integral to the growth and success of Cole. Mr. Cameron was later the Chief Financial Officer of two non-traded private real estate companies.
Over Mr. Ottman's 12 year real estate career, in which he was most recently President of a multifamily division of Lennar Corp. and previously a Managing Director at Trammell Crow Residential, he has performed and lead every phase of the real estate lifecycle from real estate site selection, developing construction plans and presenting them before cities and municipalities, arranging financing and overseeing construction of the project, leasing the property and eventually selling the property.
